TRAI to reinforce its earlier announced ceiling for IPLCs
September 15, 2005
nternational bandwidth prices are set to come down with TRAI reinforcing its earlier announced ceiling for international private leased circuits (IPLCs). The new ceiling is up to 64 per cent lower than the existing ceiling. The ceiling tariff takes effect from September 16, 2005. This is the second time that the regulator has attempted to bring down international bandwidth tariffs.
VSNL had opposed TRAI's earlier order and had got a stay order from the telecom tribunal.
